Why Choose Radiant Renewables for  Installation?

With almost 30 years of experience, we’ve installed hundreds of renewable heating systems across homes and commercial sites. Our MCS-certified engineers take care of the full process, from feasibility to final commissioning. Here’s what to expect:
  • Site visit and tailored advice
  • Clear design options and pricing
  • Full air source heat pump installation
  • Post-install system tuning and support
  • Ongoing energy maintenance services
  • Help with applications for Boiler Upgrade Scheme
Our team is trained, certified, and experienced. We won’t recommend a heat pump unless your building is suitable, and we’ll talk to you honestly about insulation, hot water setup, and expected performance.

How Does an Air Source Heat Pump Work?

An air source heat pump (ASHP) works by extracting heat from the outside air, even in cold weather, and converting it into usable energy for heating and hot water. The ASHP heating system uses a refrigerant cycle to absorb ambient heat and compress it to a higher temperature, which is then used to warm your home or provide hot water.

This makes ASHP heating a highly efficient option for renewable heating systems. It’s a popular choice for eco-conscious homeowners looking to reduce their carbon footprint and energy bills.

Boiler Scheme

Boiler Upgrade Scheme

This government grant provides up to £7,500 to support heat pump installation. It is available across England and Wales until 2028.

Eligibility includes:

  • Owning the home
  • Replacing a fossil fuel system (oil, LPG, or gas)
  • Holding a valid EPC with no major insulation issues
  • Self Builds are eligible (criteria applies)

We’ll guide you through the full application process, manage your voucher, and get your system installed to MCS standards.

Bonus: Until 31st of March 2027, all heat pump installations benefit from 0% VAT, cutting your upfront costs even further.

What We Also Offer

Our service doesn’t end at the heat pump. We also support: If you’re planning a full retrofit or system upgrade, we’ll coordinate the entire job, including insulation, emitters, and smart controls.

Air Source Heat Pumps FAQs

An ASHP heating system extracts heat from the outside air and uses it to warm your property and hot water. It runs on electricity and is most efficient when paired with low-temperature distribution systems like:
  1. Underfloor heating installation,
  2. Low-temperature or oversized radiators.
  3. Well-insulated hot water cylinders .
We also carry out water heater replacement if your current cylinder isn’t suitable for heat pump use.

The Air Source Heat Pump absorbs heat from the air outside using a refrigerant. The heat is then compressed to a higher temperature and transferred to your heating and hot water systems.

Depending on your current heating system, you could save up to 50% on your energy bills by switching to a heat pump.

There are 5 stages to our ASHP installation:
  1. Site assessment
  2. Design and planning
  3. Preparation
  4. Installation
  5. Testing and Commissioning
The installation process typically takes 3–5 days.

In most cases, ASHPs are permitted development in the UK, but there are exceptions such as listed buildings or if you are in a conservation area. We always recommend checking with your local planning authority if you are unsure.

Modern ASHPs are relatively quiet, typically producing around 40–60 decibels. This would be a similar level to a quiet conversation. However the positioning and quality of installation can reduce the perceived noise.
